Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great popularity with her stories that she shares about her childhood heartbreak. Swift discovered a love for musical instruments as a young person and soon progressed from performing in kids' shows, to making her debut in public. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match at age 11, she was already creating songs. After that, she began playing guitar. Swift was a singer who took influences from the music of Shania Twain as well as The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world of music from the country genre, wrote her original songs to reflect the feeling of being alienated. Swift was only 13 when her parents decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm and move into Hendersonville Tennessee. She could spend all of her energy to approaching the country music labels that were based in Nashville.
